today i was travelling from one community to another...this trip usually takes about 2 hrs. it took me 3 1/2. a bit more than halfway, there was a huge burn pile in the middle of the road. a community who has been without electricity for 20 days piled tires on the street and set them on fire to create a road block as a way to demand electricity and express their frustration. so the police were there and LINES of semi-trucks and buses, probly a mile long on both sides, waiting to pass. eventually they had it cleared enough that one-way traffic could go through at least.

so i'm on the coast again. finally. travelling to the communities trying to concretize jobs and get logistics ready for seeders. sometimes its so hard to do this job because i want to stay and work with the communities, but thats not my job, so i help out where i can then keep moving.

time is flying. alejo and i have to have everything ready at the end of may and that date is coming quickly, however we are prepared and have pretty much everything in place...we're travelling separately to cover all the regions faster in these two weeks then will be in bogota finishing up loose ends for one week before i head to BELIZE, nicaragua (seed orientation) and then june 19 we start here in colombia with the seeders. crazy how fast its all going.

still counting down the days/weeks/months till i can move to sincelejo. but things are going well. i love hearing from those of you who write!!! thanks...much love.
