a day in the life of jes:
i woke up this morning at 430am. not pleasant. over the weekend a number of our group went out of the city for two days to the vacation house of an mccer's girlfriend's grandparents. it was nice, warm, relaxing. played dutch blitz, settlers, and a bunch of colombian games, and swam a lot. it was so nice to get out of the city. i am already ready to be done with the huge city and get out to the pueblo.
anyway, woke up early to get on the bus, which we missed last night so i got on a cramped bus for a 3 hour ride back to bogota in which i was able to fall asleep...a miracle for which i was grateful.
got home to my apartment, still without a bed, around 9 and cleaned up my not-at-all clean room.
finished some homework while drinking orange juice.
decided to exercise after a week of sickness in which i was unable to. so i ran. attempted to do the dirty dozen, which quickly turned into a few random pushups and some ab work since my arms are insanely weak...guess we'll have to work up to the dirty dozen.
after exercising, i stepped in the shower and literally froze my body. the water heater is currently broken and therfore the water is literally like four degrees above freezing. not fun.
i also went to the bathroom which was a huge success after a week of sickness and diarrhea. won't give you the details, but it was an important part of the day.
had leftover rice and lentils for lunch and hit the road for mcc where we heard the history of colombia from a very well-known historian in 3 1/2 hours. intense. learned a lot, we'll see how much we can retain.
after class, we decided to skip night seminary class, which i was grateful for. it is supposed to be for our langauge enhancement, but mostely i feel confused throughout the whole class. eclesiology. come on...thats difficult in english!
so back at the host's house, because we don't have internet. my computer is about to die, though, so im off to my apt to get some homework done and get to bed since we have class at 730 in the morning and its a 45 min walk.
i love you all and miss you dearly. and love hearing from everyone. ps. these pictures are all really old. i'll put more up later this week that are more recent.
